What is Taiga?

Taiga is a telemedicine provider. We work with licensed Canadian physicians to make it easy and affordable for you to see a doctor on your schedule from wherever you are. We want to be your family’s first choice for healthcare.

How does Taiga work?

You book to see a doctor our website. We will send you an email with a link to connect to the doctor at the time of your appointment and after your appointment will send you an email with a link to your patient portal where you can access your medical records. Any prescriptions will either sent to the pharmacy of your choice or you may choose to have your prescriptions delivered directly to you.

Is telemedicine legal in Canada?

Yes! All of our doctors are hand picked, board certified and licensed in Canada.

Is Taiga a Canadian company?

Yes! We have been in business for over a decade serving Canadians.

Can I see the same doctor again?

Yes! Our system will automatically pair you with the first available physician but if you would like to see the same person again, we make it easy for you to do so.

I have OHIP, am I covered at Taiga?

Yes, any services that would be normally covered at a walk-in clinic are also covered for virtual care. There are never any surprise costs.

I have UHIP, am I covered at Taiga?

Yes, Taiga accepts UHIP members. There are never any surprise costs.

I don’t have a health card, can I still see a doctor?

Yes, we also offer low private pay options. Please see our pricing page.

Are my medical records secure at Taiga?

Yes, all of our technologies are PIPEDA and PHIPA compliant. Your medical records are only used to treat you and none of your information is ever sold.

Can I get a doctors note?

Yes, however doctors notes are not covered by OHIP, just the same as brick and mortar doctors office.

Can you refer me to a specialist? How about labs, blood tests and imaging?

Absolutely, we can order any tests that are required or give you a referral to a specialist.
